Philosophy

Many people of the Boomer Age
are looking for ways to invest some of their Retirement Savings in the Stock Market.

This site was developed for the investor that wants to manage His/Her own money.

It is NOT for the In and Out Trader.

  Investment requires Patience.

The Stock Market goes up and the Stock Market goes down.
I try never to buy when the Stock Market is way up.
I sell very reluctantly
I try to buy quality stocks in the first place - stocks that
will have a better than average longevity of profitability.

Usually I will defer to my hold instinct
- sometimes to my short term detriment.

Also, I won't  Buy or Sell all of a big Position at one time.
It costs a little more in Commissions
to break the Stock Trade up but the thought here is that
the overall Price will be to your advantage.

If a Company has a lot of Debt on the Balance Sheet
there should also be a very good explanation for it as well.

My preference is to Buy when the
Stock Market is Off it's Recent Highs.
This takes Guts - because of the potential Downside.
One must have the Courage of Conviction that
the U.S. Economy is the Best in the World and that
Our System will Outperform any other over time.
That's what I believe !

That said, I do want some stocks from Foreign Countries
and I use ADR's to do this.
I only buy Stocks in Foreign Companies
that are listed on our U.S. Stock Markets

Small Cap Stocks can be Real Winners, or conversely,
they can be Real Dogs. I try to keep some in the Portfolio
- and Keep a Critical Eye on their progress.

I  try to Accumulate Cash and
Invest it back into the Stock Market.

I do not use Dividend Reinvestment Plans.
I prefer stocks that Pay an Increasing Dividend.

My Overall Objective is to Build a Portfolio that
Increases in Value and Produces an Increasing Revenue Stream.

I use the services of Charles Schwab.

They are the best Discount Broker in the business in my opinion.
The charges to Buy and Sell stocks are very reasonable and they provide some great research.

Here is a web site that I find interesting:
